Nathalie Lorson

Nathalie Lorson was born in Grasse, the birthplace of perfumery, where her father worked as a chemist at Roure. Her passion for scent took root in childhood, watching essences and bottles in her father's laboratory. She trained at the Roure Bertrand Dupont school, one of the few women in the field at the time. She began her career at IFF in 1987 and joined Firmenich in 2000, where she was named master perfumer.

She created fragrances including Bvlgari Femme, Lalique Amethyst, Encre Noire, Flora by Gucci and Le Labo Poivre 23, and co-created YSL Black Opium alongside fellow Firmenich perfumers; in 2015 she was named Perfumer of the Year in France and Italy.

Her style, marked by smooth, rounded materials, reflected a constant search for new olfactory territories, fueled by her travels and curiosity.
